Dr. C.N.R. Ravishankar is an eminent fisheries scientist and former Director of ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Kochi (2014–2022) and Director & Vice-Chancellor of ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai (2022–2025). A Fellow of several prestigious scientific academies, he has over three decades of experience in fish processing, post-harvest technology, food safety, packaging, agribusiness management, and intellectual property rights. Throughout his distinguished career, he has led pioneering research, technology commercialization, and innovation initiatives that have significantly advanced India's fisheries and food processing sectors. Dr. Ravishankar is the recipient of numerous national and international honours, including the Dr. L.C. Sikka Endowment Award, ICAR Team Research Award, SKOCH Awards, and the Best Indian Fisheries Scientist Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable fisheries development.
